Relax and come on over and experience a glimpse of one family's life in the 1800's.
The mansion was built for Steamboat Captain Joseph Kinney and his family as their
summer home. Construction started during the Civil War in 1864 and was finished in
1869. The 12,000 sq. ft. mansion has stood against time and Mother Nature to
become the relaxing and mesmerizing bed and breakfast it is today.
We have the luxury of a quiet country setting, but with just a short walk you will find
yourself at the Missouri River bridge crossing over to historic Boonville, where you
can shop antique stores and specialty shops, eat at dinners, steakhouses, and fast food
shops, and even play a few games at the casino. We are 500 feet away from the
KATY Bike and walking trail, 10 miles from Rocheport and the Winery, and 15
minutes from Fayette and Central Methodist University.
Need the big city life? No worries, we have Columbia and Missouri University just
20 minutes away (by car). Need bigger? We have you covered with Kansas City and
St. Louis just about 2 hours away on each side of us and Jefferson City about 45
minutes away. So browse through our website, view our rooms, and book one today.
Your stay may seem short, but the time you spend in this amazing mansion, rich in
history and great food, will be in your memories for a lifetime, or until you come back!
